Important: If you are testing the migration process you can skip importing the forms and cleanup.

Generate a new V4 site from Patient Engage

  1. Navigate to the PatientEngage account associated with the V3 site: https://app.getsetpro.com/a/accounts/####
  2. Click the "+" add button and create a new website.  Choose StevePress (v4) Beta.
  3. Lauch the site.
  4. You should now be able to "Edit Website" that will link you to the newly created V4 site.


V4 User Account?

Import Theme

  1. On V4, click "Theme Settings" in the admin sidebar.
  2. On the top adminbar, click "Import Theme Settings".
    Note in V4, Theme Settings are JUST that: font styles, colors, site spacing, button shapes, etc. In V4 think of theme settings as the CSS styling for your site. Theme settings do no include, for example, what hero types get used on childpages, what components are used on the homepage, what types of images get used, etc. That is content and is managed separately.
  3. From there you can choose:
    1. V4 Site: Apply a prebuilt theme.
    2. Web Page: Use AI to look at an external website (be it V3 or anywhere else) and auto generate colors, fonts, and button styles based on what is on the URL you provide.
    3. Description: Describe your theme.  Include mentions of fonts, colors and button styles.


Import Header and Footer

  1. In the sidebar navigate to Layouts. Click "Add from any Site".  
  2. Select another site to pull the header/footer from.  Filter by "starter", select any of the starter sites, the headers are more or less the same but you can also filter by "theme" if you want a theme-specific header/footer.
  3. Select the header and footer to import.
  4. Click "Copy Post(s)".


Import Forms

  1. There is no method for auto-importing forms (yet) so you will need to copy whatever starter forms you need.  In the sidebar navigate to Forms, then click "Add from Library".
  2.  Select either of the two forms available (we need to build up this library)
  3. Click "Copy Post(s)".


Import Content

  1. Navigate in the sidebar to Tools > Import.
  2. Enter the domain of the V3 site you are importing, this can be the *.ecpbuilder.com domain or the client's domain.  Leave "Migrate Content" checked.  Click "Import".
  3. A migration 'job' will be created for each page of the site you are importing.  You can track the progress of the job by navigating to the "Jobs" tab in the Tools area.  A minute after submitting a job you should see a list of pages being imported.  If you see the column "Completed In" with a value, that page has finished importing.  Depending on the number of pages this migration task can take 30mins+.  

Note on importing from V3

  • Only Published pages and posts (blog posts) will be migrated.
  • Forms do not get migrated.
  • For each V3 page, V4 will import the page title, meta title, meta description, excerpt, and featured image.
  • If there are tokens in any of the fields above, the standard tokens will be auto converted to V4 tokens.
  • From each imported page, only media on the page and the page's featured images are imported.  This tool does not import all media found in the V3 site's media library and this is by design.


Cleanup

  1. When all pages have completed migrating test each page and fix as needed.  
  2. You will need to insert the form you migrated into the appropriate pages and build new forms and insert them when required.


Reporting Bugs

When reporting a bug, please include the full V4 URL to the edit mode of the page with the bug.
